SCHOLARSHIPS and FELLOWSHIPS

1999 – Sir Thomas Beecham Scholarship from the University of Sussex for most outstanding Music student. Funded ‘cello lessons at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama for duration of degree.

2009 – Walter Hines Page Scholarship from English Speaking Union and ATL (Association of Teachers and Lecturers), funding three week research and development tour in US to enhance music teaching praxis – Applications of Gordon’s Music Learning Theory.

2013 – Awarded Postgraduate Fellowship of the Royal Geographical Society with the Institute of British Geographers in response to sabbatical/self-funded research project proposal.

PUBLICATIONS

2015 Emma has been asked to contribute to the publication of Music Play II, GIA publications, an Early Childhood Music Curriculum including a large variety of music and suggested activities that support tenets of A Music Learning Theory for Newborn and Young Children (Gordon, 2003).
